With over 15% growth expected in 2017, Circle 8 Logistics is looking for an Experienced Carrier Sales Representative to join our growing presence in the U.S. with Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies, specifically, driving new brokerage business in the Retail, F&B and Paper & Packaging markets. You will provide transportation solutions to our Client Team Leaders on a variety of existing and new business initiatives. This is an outstanding role for somebody that is looking to take on a challenging position and advance their sales career with a fast growing company. What will you be doing?
-Leverage your knowledge of carriers who specialize in moving Retail, Food & Beverage (F&B) and Paper and -Packaging products (among other industries) in the U.S. and Canada to secure freight transportation for our new and existing clients; secure introduction meetings to realize in new carrier relationships and sell the services of Circle 8 Logistics.
-Research new carrier prospects, new contacts, and map/segment the marketplace for lane usage; and manage and grow contacts with carriers in your developing portfolio.
Sales Leadership/Market Segmentation
Lead personal, networked-based sales pursuits with carriers across the U.S.
Work with Retail, F&B and Paper & Packaging client teams to expand these networks.
Continually partner with Client Team Leaders on opportunities for pending RFPs/RFIs for new client-specific lanes.
Lead Origination, Conversion, Pursuit and Close
-Manage “working the funnel” of your carrier leads and opportunities to move them through to close on project freight.
-Collaborate with Client Team Leaders on strategy, positioning and messaging of introductory meetings/calls, proposals and closing efforts on client-specific lanes/loads.
-Manage your freight and track leads, contacts, activity and opportunity data in proprietary software system.
Target Account Strategy
-Provide logistical support for existing clients and client teams for Key Accounts.
We need someone who can bring the following to the table:
-Strong industry contacts are required (Experience managing carrier relationships/accounts moving retail, F&B, paper & packaging manufactured products is highly desired).
– Demonstrable knowledge of trucking transportation issues and logistics solutions.
-Minimum 2-5 years or greater of experience representing and selling logistics services.
-Knowledge of the latest trends in the transportation industry and solid grounding in freight brokerage concepts and dynamics.
-Bachelor’s Degree preferred/or equivalent work experience
-Inside Sales Experience preferred
-Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
-Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others
-Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively
-Excellent systems knowledge: MS Office and Internet preferred
-Experience/familiarity with proprietary 3PL software systems
-Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Excellent telephone skills/call-center experience
-Interest or knowledge of business/3PL transportation logistics/supply-chain management preferred
